What the **** Is WRONG with me?

Forbid family members playing with each other rated games? But I can boost my rating playing lower rated chess.com friends? :)

What's wrong with "boosting" anyway? It's not a chess engine use, then you meet a better player and you surely lose.

VirtualKnightJoakim

You are not allowed to make rating manipulations either against yourself or friends. Your rating should reflect your true strength. The rating determine which board you play in a team match or tournament and which you are eligible to play for. When you challenge someone, he or she should be able to rely on your rating when deciding whether to play you or not.

I own several accounts on here ranging from 1880-1950 in strength. But lately about 2 weeks now I've been on a losing spree to 1300-1600s. Granted I've been playing quite a lot of blitz, but still. I am unable to see simple tactics, simple deflections and the like. I can't SEE shit. When I play blitz 3 mins or bullet I'm usually able to calculate 3-4 very quickly, or at the very least see basic tactics.

My openings have become a disaster - always coming into the middlegame under pressure. My openings have always been fine, so why now?

I was doing fine a month ago, pushing to 2000, but then it's like I just woke up and everything went to complete [language - MG]. And by everything, I really mean everything - opening, middlegame and endgame. I've hit a period of stagnation and even though I am studying (currently reading several great chess books) I'm unable to improve, which is weird because I started playing chess 2.5 years ago and I've done excellent to get from 450 elo to 1900. Maybe I should play longer time controls? I've tried and no change. Usually, if you have some level of skill, when you look at a chess position you get some inclination as to what moves you should play. My intuition also went to [language - MG]. When I see a position, my mind just go blank. EVEN BASIC RECAPTURES CONFUSE ME.

What in the world is going on with me?

I did not read this al, but WOW, you just told the world you broke the rule on having multiple accounts

Kickshifter

This is parrot talk. Rating jumps +100 on newer accounts. One can boost bullet by playing just 3 games or simply join a match/tournament for underrated players and win.

It is how chess.com itself invented it :)

Kickshifter

With all cheaters around, believe me - it's never your real, fair rating. So don't talk crap. I repeat - account that OBVIOUSLY cheats for months, is still alive, while multiple family accounts are being closed

GM_chess_player

1.Why are u posting this in public that you have multiple accounts?

2.I don't know.

I didn't even know it was against rules to have multiple accounts. Oh well, too late now. If the mods have any suspicions, please feel free to investigate me! I have nothing to hide!

they will ask you to delete your other accounts and keep one.

Still no logical arguements why multiple accounts are form of cheating. I meet obvious cheating accounts, existing from months, with 100% wins on blitz/bullet. Ridiculous

(I deleted my last comment because I used the quote). The accounts themselves are not a form of cheating but it's like a student who has a copy of the test answers on his desk.  It doesn't mean he cheated but why else would he have them and his results can not be trusted.  If you have multiple accounts at chess.com, you have the ability to cheat and why else would you have them except to max. one account?  And we're not just talking about losing to yourself - if you're having a bad period, you might use one account until you're winning again.  With multiple accounts your results and ratings can not be trusted.

I find it funny how the guy is posting what seems to be a serious thread about struggling in blitz and the only thing anyone has mentioned is the multiple accounts issue.

Every single person has posted in this thread that he is not allowed to have multiple accounts. I'm sure he knows that by now.

I think you have to get more creative. There is a book called creative chess. It talks about how grandmasters see sacrifices that don't even cross the average players mind. It also says there are three stages to a chess players development. The first stage is when every move is carefully examined. The second stage is where the players just apply principles. The third and final stage is where the players apply principles, but they see the exceptions to the rules to do something creative. In this book, it also says how most people get stuck at about 2000 elo. They are not creative and cannot see those creative sacrifices that grandmasters see with in the blink of an eye.
