We all know that there is a difference between someone who decides to keep fighting until the end and someone who just leaves their computer and lets the time run down forcing you to wait there like an idiot. The second kind are just jerks and need to be reported.

Yeah but if they disconnect shouldn't they lose by abandonment after a certain period of time? I think these people still have the computer on with the tab open.

Of course they will lose by abandonment if they close a tab or quit. These people aren’t the problem. The people who are the problem are those who just stop playing but leave the game on. It’s obnoxious.
You should always report this. Sure they may be doing nothing wrong, and if it’s just a one time thing, chess.com won’t take action. They only take action against those who show a pattern of doing this, so reporting an innocent person doesn’t harm them.

What about people who offer draws in totally losing positions? Should they be reported as well?
Why should they?
Lmao no one gets restricted to blitz for playing on after losing a piece
People offering draws might think its a drawn position, it isn't always hard to see an escape with perpetual check for example

Yeah, but there’s always that annoying guy, especially at lower levels, who is dead lost and offers draws every move. I think they are hoping that you accidentally hit the ✅ instead of the ❌, hoping that you are stupid, or hoping to distract you. I just block these people. Anyway, it’s a DIFFERENT topic.
