The best advice for me was to Study Endgame Principles! At first I took it mildly because I was too busy learning the openings and enjoyed the middlegame with all of the combonations and such. Then I realised that understanding the endgame is key to both openings and middlegames.

During my time on here I see more players lose because of weak endgame play or lack of knowledge about winning techniques in the endgame.

why not?

Because your rating will look like mine, lol!

Seems like a fine trade off to me.

Stop playing before it's too late.

Danny_BLT

win

Xilmi

"Calculate to quiscence and then a move more."

I'm sure if I'd follow that advice I'd be awesome, but it actually is really, really hard to do so if there's a lot of variations.

U mean that if u have less material in the endgame, u ll win through your better endgame techniques?

NO..I mean players set themselves up to lose because they do not understand basic endgame techniques. King position and pawn structure, or piece play ( or the lack there of). Ask any strong player and they will agree that knowledge of the endgame is essential to improving. We learn openings and tactics, and strategy which is good. However, we must know how to finish the game in order to secure or protect the win.

To get a girl's number while playing a chess game against her, take a sticky note, write a move down on it (a good move) and put you cell phone number at the bottom.  When you hit your clock, leave the sticky note on it and when she looks at you, wink.

A friend of mine did that a few dozen times and a girl texted once, so it has a low success rate, but it's a sure way to  get a girl at a chess tournament (if you go to many).

Best ever advice;

"If u lose, shoot your opponent".

Does that qualify as the Stand your ground law?

So an unlikly way to get a girl at an event with few girls.

How about just randonly walking up to one in a mall and asking, "Hey you want to go out? I swear I won't kill you."

Don't socialize with chess players if you want to get laid.

winerkleiner

Play checkers, it's more challenging.
