Well........... you had to oil the wagon wheels a lot. Sometimes the horses pooped on yer feet if the wagons design had it sittin' too low. But I digress. The newer version is just different, not sayin' it's better.

I think it was a reputation rating as in who a strong tournament and how many tournaments and matches has a person won and winning streaks maybe also brilliancy and immortal games and world title and grandmaster titles / hope this helped : D

I'm thinking the OP was referring to the chess.com rating system before they changed. That was before I joined I guess. I'm sure the old systems formula can be looked up, right?
