What would be the average rating for a 13 year old
When you're 13 years old, it is better to have 2500 friends that be a nerd with a 2500 chess rating. Just saying.
2500 friends is a lot of work. Unless you mean people that you know, in which case would still be extremely hard to manage. I don't know if you can even meet 2500 different people and remember their faces and names.
At least if you're 13 years old with a 2500 chess rating you'll make it to national headlines...

I was 13 years old yesterday. Although I'm not anymore I can still confirm that this wasn't true for me. Who needs 2500 friends?
Your chess rating doesn’t correspond to your age. Different people begin to develop their chess skills at different points in their life while also gaining elo at different rates. There is an “average” elo for 13 year olds but that number doesn’t really matter. A love for the game and the desire to become better is all that matters in the end.
I'm 13 years old and I'm about 1500. Is that good?
How long have you been playing? It has nothing to do with your age, it more has to do with when you started playing.
I think they wanted to know average to set a benchmark since if you want to play chess you might like to know if ur rating is good or bad since rating overall is 1200 and most chess players are adults and i think that is speficly adult level chess i'd say like 500-800 would be average for 13 year olds as of how young they would be compared to the normal aduince don't expect a 13 year old to beat a person who started at the same age but is 20
The real answer is about 800-1000 on Chess.com. A bit higher in USCF.
im 1100 elo and im 10 years old...
if ive been playing chess for a few months as a 13 year old and im 1100, is that good?
too good to be true
