Since how the brain or mind processes information is not understood, cognitive sience doesn't actually exist, so what they teach is a mystery.

That's just silly. In every science there are plenty of things that are not currently well understood. That doesn't mean that disciplines like physics or chemistry "doesn't exist."  In fact. we know enormously more about mental and cognitive processes than we did ten years ago

You're probably best off not sticking to your guns and saying things you don't really understand are silly, but of course, it's your choice and it may be a habit that's difficult to break. I'd like to emphasise that NOTHING is known about how the mind organises the information it deals with. The hardware is there to see but not how it works. Hence the mind isn't understood. The brain is understood because that's phsyical. The mind is mental. Of or pertaining to the mind. Mental.

My IQs about 170. Laskernephew's trouble is that he's well meaning but perhaps too outspoken. I can back up my own ridiculous assertions by proving that I can be more riduculous than others can even imagine. You have to go the whole hog and not back them up rather lamely. And my IQ was measured at around 170 but being 71, it's probably sunk down to about 38.

I think you're right. Even something like obesity can or does alter the brain function.

I'm not fat, how come my IQ is so low. Well compared to all of you? I thought mine was pretty good until I saw a few of yours. You guys and gals should be so darn proud. Gee if I had an IQ as high as you people here I wouldn't be playing chess, that's for sure. I would be accomplishing a great many things, I wouldn't have the time to spend it all here. 

Give yourselves a big pat on the back. What I would give to also be a genius. Darn it. : ((( 

Being very clever in the wrong environment for it is itself something that can necessitate great accomplishment just to survive it.
