what’s the best feeling in chess?
When you blunder you queen, and all of the other pieces, you only have one rook left but your opponent sucks and you get a rook & king checkmate.
I love when my opponent tries to do a big attack and it fails. Whether it's them not paying attention and hanging a deadly piece or my king making a mad dash to the other side of the board in the middlegame, it's always satisfying to watch them pause as they realize I'm not in any danger.
One of my games had me (Black) moving my king from e8 to f7, and then all the way to c6 — in front of its own pawns — to avoid an avalanche of white pieces coming its way. And against all odds it was completely safe.
At that moment, it wasn't about me trying to checkmate my opponent. It was about survival. That game actually played out like a real-life battle. And in the end, I emerged victorious. Sure, my opponent didn't play particularly well, but still.
playing a really long game where both sides are down to 10 sec increment in an endgame where there are tricks air for both sides Jogging for position with king and pawns until someone cracks.
This is an easy question to answer, what is the best feeling in chess you ask?
"Eating a meal, a succulent Chinese meal!"
Drawing a totally lost position in a 60/10 Game against a lowe rated opponent who declined a draw 15 min before
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.
That goes for pretty much anything.
One of the best feelings for me is when I reach a new rating milestone. Reaching 2600 blitz for example was an amazing feeling. In general though, I would say when the work you put in to getting better starts to show through your games—that is a pretty good feeling.
Simply not screwing up the game. I don't mind if the person I'm playing against wins because he or she happens to be a better player, but I definitely DO hate it when I lose because of a stupid blunder I made.
when you’re about to resign but then the opponent blunders so hard that you end up winning
