1. e4 e5

2. Nc3 Nf6

3. Bd3

for some reason i had trouble with this.

Here im tempted to play 3...Bc5 with black. In any case 3.Bd3 is a terrible blunder because it impedes the natural development of white's c1 bishop. The key in this position is to not allow white to open it up- keep it closed- and manuever your pieces to the kingside slowly, but mainly, KEEP PIECES ON THE BOARD. At the very least black can easily equalize in this position.

i'd say Nc6 and continue to develop, 3Bd3 is a terrible move
