I once played a 1 match game of backgammon for 10 dollars. This is the highest amount i played. But chess tournament cost a lot more if you don't win prize money so you basically lose around 40 dollars in a week. I know which is better for me at this adult age. Chess tournament certainly no no, since i don't having the bragging rights of cracking dream popular exams of lots of people and there is no use of increasing my iq by playing chess.
Yes, i lost ten dollars in five minutes. I didn't that lose that much chess rating since i don't play biltz or bullet. May be losing at highest four to five game which translates to around 60 to 70 rating point at a stretch. But that also i doubt it since i don't have proof. It is all my humble mind of saying four to five game loss at a stretch. Most certainly, probably i would have left the computer earlier than still going after four game loss at a stretch.
Well it wasn't me but someone I played. I had a rating of 117 and they had a rating of 800 and something. I ended up checkmating them and they lost 536 off of their rating and I only earned 20. It was hilarious as I was with them in real life whilst playing too 😂

my biggest drop was from 1322 to 418.
About 904 rating drop.
i think its a glitch but now i am at 322 lol

I was 1749 highest. Now I'm 1159 and going down on daily Chess.com.
I my youth I could even play descriptive notation BLINDFOLD chess.
But age is claiming my memory since I'm 87 years old.
That's 590 rating drop.
