a GM knows theory , a super GM makes theory
Probably the best answer so far, although I still think of a Super GM as a superhero who rightly should wear a dashing cape and have super powers.

It's about prestige. The super GMs submit a paid application for inclusion in this "super" GM label. The fee costs about 900.00 US dollars as opposed to a dollar as valued and used in other countries as they're absent value in other countries that don't use the US dollar as their currency. Kind of like paying for the "Whos Whos" routine and getting one's name in it for temporally egoistic and ultimately quite maudlin reasons. They receive a year book looking thing, a popularly priced certificate with a stamped signature of the governing body of SuperGM, LLC and four shares of Shoe Carnival stock. The recognition as a Super GM has been linked with high rates of suicide and utter meaninglessness. In such sad instances, the four shares of Shoe Carnival stock are automatically sold for the convenience of the nearest of kin. The current trading price hovers at around 12 cents, US cents. Senseless.

It is beautiful said, but not the whole truth , because the Lighter GMs makes theory too. Even IMs makes theory, for example IM Marc Esserman in the Smith Morra Gambit. A lot of GMs does deep research of chess and writes books. The most super of the superGMs , Magnus, doesnt have time for writng chessbooks, but of course his better games comes with new things that becomes theories.
When an IM beats a superGM, like Marc Esserman did to Loek Van Vely, there might be new theories that are tested in practical chess. Theories with so good preparation that they actually works on toplevel.
Yes, but was he crushed like a melon?
Indeed. He's been earning extra income by making Watermelon Wine.
Trolling is not necessarily bad. Good ideas can evolve, and we are free to post the best we can write.
Agree. It's enjoyable to ask absurd questions and observe who will answer them. Some become livid and it's likewise enjoyable. I enjoy angering people who take note of my absurdity. A sort of human behavior study of chess players who are here more so to troll trollers than to play the game. This remark is sure to snap some chap's mental kite string. Note the abundance of topics now available to discuss: Enjoyment. Absurdity. Humans. Behavior. Anger. Reactive-Attachment Disorder. Chess. Games. Antagonism. Pettiness. Boredom. Hostility. Notes. Remarks. Kites. Strings. Nonsensical threads such as this. GM. BMs. Metamucil. and yes, Anger.

LOL that's the answer you're happy with? Obviously it's the correct answer, but any idiot could have given you that correct answer on page one. I know I could have, it's just the most basic of common sense. Nothing in that answer was specific to 2700s, he just described what being a better player than somebody else is like. I can't believe that's the answer you're happy with. I think you just got bored of the thread.
I don't agree that it's all that easy to give that answer, or simply basic to understand such a thing. Perhaps because it's just easy to get the impression that your buddy who plays better than you "just understands x better," "just gets it better," vague kinds of things like that. I know I used to think up theories like that. It actually does take something to fight back your urge to come up with vague, mystical theories to explain differences in chess strength. I think so, anyway.
Super GMs are slightly faster, better, and stronger at chess than GMs just as GMs as are slightly faster, better, and stronger at chess than IMs.
Super GM's wear tighty whities , like all superhero's...Also known as Tun ta duns... and GM's just wear boxer shorts
A GM (GrandMaster) is someone who earned a certain amount of norms (earn some type of good play points i think where if you played well against another grandmaster you get norms or something)(those people normally have a rating over 2500) super grandmasters dont get official super GM titles they are called super cuz they are rated over 2800. This is what I think. And because they have a high rating difference they are expected to crush normal GMs. Super GMs are also Top GM's i hope i helped.
Whats the points-difference between a Super GM , Laurent Fressinet (2677) and the 14 year old Andreas Garberg Tryggestad (2216) after 8 rounds in Xtracon chess open? The answer is zero! Both have 5,5 points. Fressinet can not be satisfied. Last year he did fantastic.
I read Andreas game against Julius Chittka. It was very fine. Andreas got full dominatinon queensidepawns and finished off the queening with a nice tactic.

Other super GMs ar doing better, with 6 to 7 points, but the top two rated has 5,5 (top one, Zuninga, can climb to 6,5. His game isnt finished yet).
Fressinet is better than Andreas. He has scored the same, but against much harder opposition.
They can meet eachother in the next round. Interesting :)

What's so interesting. He gets paid whether he wins or not, in some countries his salary is largely undeserved. He does not need to win any tournaments. He can simply coach, and in some countries he gets undeservedly a job as well. He can be a piece of shit for that matter, he will find a job, and fact is some of them are, he does not need to be a GM either, just to get close to the title.
This is a fantastic topic. Made me follow the GM games in Xtracon , Denmark.
Dreev plays fantastic, very good positionally with a tactical brilliancy, look at this ! Thats how a Super GM can crush a lighter GM.
Xtracon Chess Open 2016(7.4), Elsinore, 28/07-2016, D37
He used brilliant tactics and arrived with two rooks on the seventh rank.
