A club is a social community. They have their own discussions, forums, tournaments etc. And the play against other clubs, participate in vote chess etc. So clubs are fun. You don't need many clubs, but may have some for different reasons.

i see many players trying to join as many clubs as they can --- what's the point ? what does a club do for you in playing chess ? i know iam missing something here -- please explain what's the point of joining a club for a low lifer like me -- or is there not point and its all just a game to join as many as possible ????
