I was hanging a queen because I was blindly confident that I found a Greek gift to checkmate my opponent

Though, most of the time, my blunder was I'm hanging my queen.

This just happened (I took a pawn)

Fortunately, my opponent played an even dumber move not even five seconds later, inadvertently saving my dignity.

I've definitely had worse ones, but unfortunately (thankfully?) I don't remember them.

I blundered so badly in the opening that I followed it up by intentionally blundering more over the rest of the game because I was so angry with myself and the tilt I was on. Not proud of it, but I wonder what the other player must have thought. Probably, how are they my rating? Only happened once, never again. If I blunder I will play on to the best of my ability with what the position has until mate or time out.

My very first classical chess game in the ECF: I had m7 on the board after outplaying my opponent for the entire game….. and…. I hung my queen. In a single move. In OTB Classical chess. Worse still? The game was published in the English Chess Federation magazine “Chessmoves”. Doesn’t get much more humiliating than that!!

I hopped onto chess after a long break, without any warmup, and what? I blundered a mate in 1!

here we go! Good few years ago, now, and I’ve improved a lot since thank God. But still, I was plenty good enough to not hang my queen!! Think I was ~1500 at the time?

That forced mate is ice cold. (28... Qc2+ 29. Ke1 Bd3 30. Qf2 Qb1+ 31. Kd2 c3+ 32. Nxc3 Rxf2+ 33. Ne2 Qc2+ 34. Ke1 Qxe2#)

I hung my for absoulutly no reason at all. oopsies.

so I was playing this 2000, one of the top boards (keep in mind I was around 1300 at the time) anyway it was this rly big event, so we started the game. not fifteen moves in did I blunder my rook and then the rest of my pieces.
