What's your opinion about playing bots?

Sure. This is how it should be.
Absolutely. In the end, don't play for Elo, don't for wins (play to win, but not for wins), just play because you enjoy the game. Some of ( not all of course) my most enjoyable games have been played just for the sake of playing - and even if I lost the game, I had fun doing so.

On the note of time, bots can be useful at very short time controls, because (for me at least) beating a human in the available pool is pretty much impossible at that time control, but beating the worst bots can be done.
When you barely know how pieces move bots can be helpful. They allow you to play at your own pace and if you move in a structured way you win. Once you are past that point you shouldn’t play bots.
against humans its worth playing aggressive openings that apply pressure while bots mostly award playing passively waiting for the bots mistakes. It’s important to learn how to play against aggressive opponents and bots never teach you that lesson.
I think the chess.com bots are pretty cool to play, however they play in a really strange way sometimes, especially the weaker ones. That's why I only play against the stronger ones.
Also don't get me started on treadmill bots, they are WAY too op. Freaking bot keeps playing the Nimzowitsch defense and somehow wins every single time. At least the lower level ones gave up at some point in the middlegame.
And the plane bots? Free, for some reason! They all suck and are not any fun.
Anyways, my final opinion on bots is that they're only worth it to play if their level is cranked up way high or if they are treadmill or Chess.com bots. Remember, avoid the plane bots because they suck.
