Pretty sure the developers have long abandoned it. The powers that be just want you to trust their algorithms to find you a good game. Only custom seeks show up on the graph anyway. I'm often wrong....Maybe this article will help:

Trying to accept an open challenge?!
I click on an open challenge/seek. It poofs, and nothing happens. It would imply someone else took the challenge juuuust before I did. Yet, all the time, if I seek the very same challenge, the person that HAD an open challenge gets my seek.
Clealry, it's buggy...has happened for years. Why isn't this fixed by now?
