If in doubt, then play on.

Unless they are a beginner, if there is no chance for a win or draw assuming the opponent makes average moves (no huge blunders) then I resign

When I make a clear losing blunder, I just try some tricks /mindless attack. If it work then I win, if not then immediate resign. I hate when players resign when I'm winning as it just takes my enjoyment but as we have some really slow players, I would much rather if they resigned than wasting my time.

If you're in a lost position the only way to not lose is for your opponent to make a mistake to let you back into the game. Resign when you're convinced that isn't going to happen.
