I keep getting new highscores
When people hit a new peak, why do they stop playing?

I mean, when someone gets to a new hundred (eg, 1200, 1300 or 1800), why do they stop playing? I've seen some players do this, and when they got back, they tilted very badly.
So can someone tell me why people do this?
The answer is because when they go back they tilted very bad--
Wait you already said that.

.-.
The more people think that, the higher the chance that they actually do tilt.
So why do people that they are going to tilt? For example, what is the difference between playing as as a 1600 rated player and playing as a 1700 rated player?

Yeah, one way of thinking is that 1610 to 1620 isn't an important difference right?
So why is it an importance difference from 1690 to 1710?
It's because the 100s and 1000s digits are convenient benchmarks, and when people reach a new one they don't want to fall back down, at least not right away, so sometimes people stop playing for a while.

I am getting better and better... I defeated a titled player the other day and today new blitz highscore... "A real champion is a defending champion" Vitaly Minakov !!

because some people want to "enjoy" the new high rating and I can understand that. Perhaps that milestone was a tough goal they finally reached and they don't want to risk dropping and "losing it" again. Nothing wrong with sitting on a rating for a bit and taking in the moment, but I feel like it becomes a problem when they sit on it too long and don't want to get back out there and keep pushing for higher.
The reason they drop so much after they return is likely because:
1) it was a new high score, so chances are greater they'd drop
2) the time "enjoying the moment" and sitting on the rating is usually a small break from the grinding and typically a break from practice, studying, training and so on, so of course they drop once they play because they aren't as "in the flow" as they were before

They stop a lot once they reach a new peak because they are afraid their going to lose it.
I am below 1400 rapid now from my 1500+ time har har... I never stop relling

Is there, in the new level, that they begin to loose, because play against people with higher ELO.
During this time, they play agaist bots, to study and improve their knowledge.
It is what I intend to do, at least.
because they may not wanna see their ratings drop aka TITLING or maybe they are just bored..
i too decided to stop playing....i were in good days in most of my games (and my opponents didn't play sharp)...it was all blitz and bullet. my rating only rose up about 400 points. i had >90% accuracies however i didn't intend to continue playing against humans since i knew i would not consistently play that good forever!! especially since my body is not in a good shape! thus i quit playing chess. but i felt a bit satisfaction seeing my own record since most of my games had very high accuracies. ! i only played about 10 games. only 2 were bad. and then those idiots accused me of cheating!!! i was wronged!!!! what a stupid bunch of fake heroes and busybodies full of prejudice and envy! i only played few games!!! not dozens of games!!! i just happened to be in good days hence i got very high accuracies in most of my games!!!!

It's because when they reach a new peak, they get this sudden realisation or you can say enlightenment that they have works to do.
