i am surprised by all the standard lovers and blitz haters! I think and overthink positions for much too long, but i switched from 15 minute standard to 10 minute blitz a long time ago because the difference is only 5 seconds per move. I lost plenty of games on time in standard to know more time isnt my problem, it is considering my opponents plans and making strong moves. There is time to make the same decisions in critical positions in 10 minute games as there is in 15, but you have to tighten up your openings and endgame technique to improve in 10 minute games and thats why i think it is better training than standard. Also there is a lot of trappers, gambiteers and cheapos in 10 minute blitz... so you will learn by pain the most common traps quickly.
I like 960 a lot because there is no cheap gimmicks, and online but only 24 hours/ no vacation because I dislike being married to a game.
I find bullet extremely difficult, i just cant make decisions that quickly, and i have a lot of respect for the players that can, for me 5 or 3 minute blitz might as well be bullet
Online and unrated bullet. :)
