I value coaching more, but of course, they're not exclusive.
If your current coaching is unsatisfactory, you may consider trying another coach

what i mean from hard work ? it is easy i mean reading chess books first go and find a opening book than read endgame book wean you get better read middle game books i have a lot of friends they improve in 3 years with books and they are strong gms now chess needs time take 3 or 4 hour in day reading books and look them and save them in your mind im sure you will be gm in less than 3 years if you read books you dont need coach no need to be genuis or... just reading and learning

Both if you can afford it not every coach is the right fit for a player a coach who yells all the time and blows his top and does the Bobby Knight or John Tortella routine is useless it's not going to work out if you can't get along and work together.
At the same time a student has to be willing to study hard and do the work be open minded and listen or again it's not going to work to get results.
If you had to answer if you wanted to improve by reading books or by a coach which would you choose?
I do have a coach but I am considering quitting coaching and do what I can by reading books.
