I say 10. That's the best for beginners...
Which is the best time control to improve in chess?

yup as u go to advance u should change to 5 and then 3
1+0 doesn't improve. I realised it

I'm pretty new to the games and I have been enjoying rapid (10 minutes, right?) I think it's long enough to engage with another player and learn something new each time. And it's a nice way to get in a quick game and keep up with my progression on a busy day.
That being said, I think it would benefit me to play longer games and learn how to strategize. But atm, Rapid is proving to be very enjoyable and enriching.

i play 30min rapid classical. iv still lost a handfull of games on time. my last game yesterday i mated with 55 seconds left. i may need to go to 45 mins, iv been trying to slow down an think alot more. hard to find the time for longer games though.

15/10 for beginners
10/0 intermediate
3/2 experts with some slow games in minority.
Advanced players usually play faster time control cos they need a vast amount of game experiences to compete against another advanced players. They usually knows opening by heart and dont want to spend no more than 5-10 seconds in opening ( you may spend 5-10 minutes in opening if you choose slow time control)

I think that in 3/2 there is not enough time to perfect the art of calculation, so even strong players need to play slow time controls to improve this aspect of the game.

I have played most correspondence chess 3 days per move. But I have not much improved although I have more routine...

5 or 10mins are best
But I play 1+0 or 3min xD
