Which mode do you use for chess puzzles (Standard/Hard/Extra Hard)? Comment below and I will visit your profile to see the ratings of the puzzles which you have received so that I can understand how the three different modes work. Thanks.

I'm using Extra Hard but it's based on each member. Here's some details released recently by staff.

We are currently working on a significant overhaul of our puzzle difficulty system and puzzle ratings. Over time, the current puzzle rating algorithm created highly inflated puzzle ratings for our members — and consequent inaccurate estimates of a puzzle difficulty. As we roll out our new system, you may see some inconsistencies in your puzzle stats, and rating changes from puzzles solved and missed may be greater than in the past.

We ask you to wait with us just a bit longer! Since in the coming weeks we will be publishing an entirely new rating system for puzzles for all members. We’re confident it will be a major steps towards our ultimate goals:

 - Provide a more meaningful rating which correlates more closely to player’s Blitz and Rapid ratings.

 - Serve puzzles better suited for each player’s level.

 - Offer options to member who are looking for different puzzle-solving experiences.

Ok (But don't deduct elo for taking too much time to solve a puzzle, like chess.com used to do. Maybe you can design a puzzle rating system that mimics the Standard mode on ChessTempo, or just scale or translate the ratings of all the puzzles by a certain amount.)

The amount of time to solve has always been a factor with a minimum of +5 added later, regardless of how long it took. Though, both of those may change in the updates.

Can someone else tell me which puzzle mode you use?

I'm just using 'standard'.

I stopped solving puzzles and cleared my puzzle rating until chess.com makes puzzles great again

Someone said in a Reddit thread that chess.com puzzles were updated 27 days ago (the post is 17 days old and it said that they were updated 10 days before that). And it seems to be true (I used to receive randomly-rated puzzles, but now I receive puzzles that are around 300 elo below my rating.) Is this true?

Puzzles received are based in the Difficulty setting and something closer to your blitz/rapid ratings as I understand it. One of the upcoming updates is going to be around that.

Is there a club in which I can regularly receive updates like this?

No, there's nothing like that. For major features that go through the beta process, there's sometimes announcements in that club about them.

I do not understand why Chess.com does not publish this information on the website. There are is something called Chess today and news under the little newspaper icon on my home screen. Why leave everyone in the dark what is happening.

I've suggested to staff in the past that an account be created that is used to post the same information that's currently posted to social media like that, especially about bigger problems and updates that may not get a separate News article.
