Which of the many features?

Hello,

In which feature can I save/edit/retrieve my own edited games?

I'm playing correspondance chess via email as they don't have chess.com, and it would take years for them to work out how to do it (older generation).

So they have a physical board set up and are keeping tract that way. I don't have one, so want to keep track of the game on here.

Which feature can I do this on? Having to start from move 1 and work my way through my emails to get a visual board is not the solution.

Thanks all!

No way of doing it??

Beer_Monster

Guessing there isn't then

you don´t want to use additional software?

MrEdCollins

My suggestion would be to use one of the many GUIs available, to keep track of all of your correspondence games, your over-the-board games, your online games, etc.

These GUIs are all capable of loading database files, of stepping forward and backwards through games, of adding variations, of analyzing the game with chess engines, of searching for positions or material, etc., etc., etc.

It sounds as if you want to use chess.com for this and I can't imagine why.  This site is clearly inferior in many ways regarding the number of features and options you have with GUIs.

Thanks guys! Apprecaite your advice.

Can you recommend any decent free GUIs? Also what does GUI stand for, Game User Interface?

MrEdCollins

Close.  GUI stands for Graphical User Interface.

Some of the free interfaces include Scid vs. PC, WinBoard, Arena, ChessGUI, and Tarrasch.  There are many others.  If you search prior topics right here on chess.com, you fill find lots of discussion on all of them.

Tarrasch is very simple to use and comes with pre-packaged engines:

Scrathc that, don't think they support Macs (nor do I but I'm bloody lumped with one). I'll try one of the others.
