Hello everyone, I posted this forum to know which are the best defences against scotch game and kings gambit?

The best defence against King‘s gambit is the classical variation, which also has a idiot trap. But unfortunately the idiot trap is unlikely to happen.

Any good defense for scotch game?

There is no such thing as 'best defence'. It will always depend on you knowledge, preferences, mood, etc, and your opponents knowledge, preferences, mood, etc. and the situation (do you have to win , etc.).

Best answers for the Scotch is:

1. -  4. Nd4 Nf6 - the best one!

2. -  4. Nd4 Bc5 -also cool one!

Actually, many variations from Black is good because I always play Scotch as White!

Also, variation you want to choose I think it must be suitable for your style!

I SAID QH4 lol

The line (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 exd4 4.Nxd4) Qh4 is deeply analysed in the recent book by Jonathan Tait "A Disreputable Opening Repertoire".

Objectively, it is probably close to equal, but I think that over the board it is MUCH harder to play properly as Black.

Anyway, my suggestions are 4...Bc5 against the Scotch, and 2...d5 3.exd5 exf4 against the King's gambit. The former is less techincal than 4...Nf6 (which is equally good), and this particular King's gambit line offers Black easy equality without the need of learning a lot of theory, for an opening that is rarely played.

Actually no. The best defence is to capture the pawn. Either:
