Which phase of the game you like?
my endgame is terrible. i can't handle pawns or advantages very well. mid game is fun, lots if tactics, lots of planning. openings are sometimes repetitive and boring
I really like middlegames due to to their complexity.
I've had too many traumatic endgames to find them in any way fun.

Understandable, but I prefer endgames usually because I've had too many traumatic middlegames lol ![]()

Lol.
I like middlegame bcoz it's the most interesting and I'm good at it. Endgame are good but I suck at it lol

lol, no you aren't alone. I only commented middlegames here; play enough chess and you'll suffer traumatic games at every game stage
The key is to learn from the mistakes and not get discouraged; stay positive in attitude and avoid tilt as you continue to increase your level of chess understanding. Do this and your rating will eventually "catch up" to you ![]()
Middle game, opening don't have enough experience with and endgame is only fun if you're on the winning end

I'm probably one of those that make you get ptsd from openings

lol - I'm actually not bad in openings. I like sharp lines and don't mind study of opening theory. No, I don't think you could play an opening that would give me PTSD. The openings that become traumatic for me (or middlegames or endgames for that matter) are the ones that I completely blow. Something like hanging a piece to something simple or a mouse-slip.
I think those cases are more "traumatic" because I know it was "on me" and the responsibility is 100% on myself. If my opponent plays some novelty or brilliant combination that I didn't see coming, then I'm usually almost as excited for them as they are for finding it! I can be a noble loser in the chess battle, but 90% of the time that I lose, I usually know what I did wrong (in retrospect from playing the move[s]) even before consulting my post-game analysis.

Yeah. You and GMs out there.
I literally did nothing but study openings and basic endgames. Because openings are fun.
Yes they are fun. You must play for fun ![]()
I enjoy sharp(ish. don't go through my games and complaining I'm not gambitting pieces on move 3) openings I think.
I'm worst at what I would call the early endgame, or late middlegame. Openings I enjoy, middlegames where an attack is possible I enjoy, pawn endgames are ok, I like when I'm a pawn up and feel comfortable converting those mainly (I make mistakes of course).
But that phase where you might have a rook a bishop and a knight each, 5-6 pawns each., I just don't know what to do. There's no real attack going on, and possibly my weakness here is that I don't know how to attack with minor pieces to checkmate, I feel like I just throw pawns forward for some reason. I inevitably end up not watching out for my pawns and end in a losing pawn endgame, or stumble into a knight fork.
When an opponent uses the opening to trade everything I just wince.
