«Adding the better cooperation of the rook with the bishops, many Soviet theoreticians believed that, in active positions, rook and two bishops outperform two rooks and a knight»

White to move.

White looks better to me.  Love the central bishops.

Looks like one of those positions I tell myself I'm ok as black for the next few moves as I slowly find out I'm not ok.

But really, black to move 1...Nc6 and black looks fine. White to move obviously white's position is very pleasing to look at, but he'll still have to find the moves that stop black from activating his pieces.

In this scenario, white do indeed have slight edge due to centralized bishops.

Even though white has a pawn and the bishop pair for the exchange, this imbalance should often be considered even - Larry Kaufman / G. Kasparov.

In this scenario, white do indeed have slight edge due to the better activity of the white pieces, particularly the bishop pair. Still white need to proceed with caution especially by using prophylaxis (preventing enemy counterplay)

Again, the bishops look great, I don't know if it's completely winning though. I'd take black for sure, the knight seems lame and black has 4 passers. The bishops easily work both sides, the rooks have one open file.

I agree. It will take white a while to develop hi ps pieces, and blacks bishop will restrict all of whites play
