I have had a good run, in the last 5 rounds, I have beaten 3 Champions, drew a fourth Champion, and beaten a contender. Who am I? (list the opponents if you know them)

2011 is an expert rating, you appear to be American and you're named after a zoo animal.  You're also exhibiting a smidgeon of narcissism, expecting total strangers to click through to your games and identify your opponents.  Beyond that, I have no idea who you are and I don't f-ing care.

'Who am I' is a game where you guess the famous person based on the clues. I honestly thought the game had been around in one form or another forever (I remember playing as a kid). I guess not, I mean if an inciteful (pun intended) retired judge couldnt see that, it wasn't clear.

I don't want too many hints but can you give us a century?

Avatar of StinkingHyena

Sure, 20th century. He was active from the 30's to the early 50's.

I'm going to guess Paul Keres. Now I will see if I can find him going on this particular run.

Your close, but it wasnt Keres.

Sammy!

Nope, not Sammy. Guessing all around him. See if this helps, he beat Botvinnik, Euwe, Alekhine and drew Capa, Flohr was the contender he beat.

We have a winner! Interestingly in an equally strong tournament (Nottingham 36) he didnt lose a game (though more draws). But you have to admit, that would have been one helluva 5 game streak!

Avatar of autobunny

he was definitely a fine player

All right, same idea guess the famous person.

'I am the first Asian chess master, and won two different national championships'

Avatar of StinkingHyena

Nope 'master' was deliberate, though he probably played at GM strength.
