Why do the posters on this site strive for a low glicko score? While it's a measure of consistency, so what?
Agree. I look at my glicko and it gives me hope. It means sometimes I play well, and sometimes I blunder. All I have to do is eliminate the blunders!
I only play 10min blits. I've been playing pretty rubbish lately, and have been resigning when I'm in deep trouble, rather than continuing to play. But my Glicko rating has gone down to 21. I think that's my lowest 'score' ever. But what I want to know is, does resigning affect the rating more/less/the same as just losing to checkmate or timing out? BTW, I am quite annoyed at how the pieces 'stick' and won't move first attempt when the clock is running down in the last 60secs or so. Sometimes I have to click on a piece 2 or 3 times to get the thing to move, and end up either missing out on a win, or timing out.

It has nothing to do with how high or low your rating is. It is a measure of how accurate your rating is. Someone could have a low rating (like 900) and still have a low Glicko rating, if they play constantly. Another way to think of it is this: Your RD rating only goes down if you start playing MORE games. Playing better has nothing to do with it.
