Saruman and Lord Elrond are probably the best chess players on Middle-Earth.

NO! obviously Gandalf is the best player. someone checkmates him and his king would just show up on another part of the board in a slightly different color.

Absolutely, I concur.

Dobby would win unless someone asked him to play a particular move.

Also, "he pinsees my knyt with his BISHOORPSES!! CURLSE HEEM until I play a6!"

DrCheckevertim

jar jar binx from star trek

IronedSandwich

Voldermort. He can use legilimens to cheat. Unless he's playing Snape. Or the king of Lake Town. He would just take his king and queen and run off and put them on a colder board.

You Sir, I pitty you. jar-jar Binxs is from star wars, not star trek, and there is no excuse for confusing the 2.

Quite so. Except you pity him, not pitty him. Also, he's called Jar Jar Binks, isn't he?

JonHutch

Dobbie.

Yes, he is jar-jar binks not binxs. i blame the 2 "t"s in pity on the fact that i recently spilled soda on my keyboard and must not have got it completly cleaned out.

I changed my mind. I think Spok (from star wars) would be the best.

IronedSandwich

Nope. Rincwind from Narnia definitely takes the biscuit.

IronedSandwich

Semi-Seriously: Dobby. Unless Gollum eats him alive. So 50/50.

now its obvious that you're just trolling.

hermione would win, as she has a time turner, so when she messes up, she can turn back time and change the moves

Me: she can't be seen. And the other hermione still exists so cheating will be evident.

Elroch

Clearly Smeagol, because he looks more like a chess player.

Gandalf

General-Mayhem

I reckon Theoden would be capable of whipping up some pretty spectacular sacrifice-filled attacks:
