Who is GM DrTancredi? Defeated Nakamura 21-15 in bullet.

It's Nakamura, of course.  Nobody else can beat @Hikaru in bullet.

the dr tancredi games are fun

obviously an excellent/world class bullet player if not everything else and hanging out in the chat is just as entertaining

i highly recommend

He just switched his country to Russia. I am guessing he is Grischuk, or possibly Nepo.

Perhaps he is anonymous because he wants to be? People do this on ICC as well.

I can switch my country to Samoa. It does not mean I am really from there

@DrTancredi

Maybe that's just what he wants you to think.

My bet is that its a player in the Sinqufield cup. The player joined Chess.com on July 16. Somebody arrived 2 weeks early for the tournament. If it is a Russian, it's either Karjakin, Svidler, or Nepomniatchi. My bet that this is Nepo doing some blitz and bullet practice.

You're probably right. I don't think Nepo's strong enough to out-bullet Hikaru, though (even though some of the game's looked a bit "Nepo-ish"). Karjakin seems like a better bet.

Hikaru played this mystery player in blitz, too, 9 games—but there, Hikaru dominated the match. (6W-2D-1L). So maybe it was Nepo after all... I imagine the blitz score would've been closer to even had it been Karjakin.

Nepo would have a much better chance at out-bulleting Naka than Karjakin would, in my estimation

There's absolutely zero chance it's Kasparov, because there's no way he has the mouse skills or speed to beat Naka in bullet.

It could certainly be some other GM not yet mentioned. Carlsen, Sasha, and Ian are possible, or it could be someone else. This person played Robin on a chessbrah stream and beat him, too, although not convincingly enough for me to be sure it has to be a top 20 player or so. Then again he was playing some ridiculous openings, so who knows?

On a different thread someone who claimed to have been told who he was by Nakamura says his FIDE rating is under 2700. If that is true then there's very little sense in guessing because it's going to be extremely difficult. Don't know how reliable this person is, though.

....it's 2Q1C.

The_Ghostess_Lola

....or maybe HN is playing himself like BF used to do.

Strangemover

Robin suggested it was Rapport after he played 1.g4 in one game.

The only one who comes to my mind would be Svidler, since he is the only top Russian GM who doesn´t have an official account yet on this site. He is also into that TV series stuff. I don´t understand how people can think it is Karjakin, Nepomniashiy or Grischuk.. or Rapport. They all have freakin accounts here already.

Stuff u can't do when playing yourself....

1. Call your opponent a cheater.

2. Stand over your opponent & try to intimidate her/him.

3. Tell her/him to knock off that finger-drumming.

Stuff u can do....

1. You get to press your opponent's clock.

2. Compliment their attire.

3. Throw a piece at yourself.

It could be someone who has another account but wants to play anonymously, either to practice openings or to troll people.
