WHO IS THE GREATEST CHESS PLAYER OF ALL TIME? Defend your answer...

When this thread is finished, perhaps we could all weigh in on some other topics that have as much chance of being settled:
1) First? Chicken or egg?
2) How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?
3) What was the universe like BEFORE the Big Bang?
4) If God can do anything, can he make a rock so big that he can't push it?
5) What is Kim Kardashian famous FOR?
1. Egg came first. Reptiles lay eggs, and birds evolved later in the evolutionary cycle.
2. A pseudo question brought up by critics of the medieval philosophers/theologians. It was never brought up seriously.
3. legitimate unanswerable question
4. Yet another question that can't be answered... much like 'have you stopped beating your wife?'. CS Lewis did a good job refuting this question.
5. A terrible reality TV show... much like Paris Hilton.

Fischer. He had a level of crazy brilliance that made him unstable.
as for the other questions. Yeah the egg came first, but I do believe in God. Not to start a "religious" discussion but I think that science proves God better than "creating the world in 7 days"
Before the big bang I would argue that there was nothing, or it could be the collapse of a different universe...?
Kardashian? yeah, everyone knows the answer to that... :D

i dont believe God is in the business of chess
Well, maybe we can't prove his existence, but atleast we know his hobbies!

best player of all time, btw, is most likely Ken Smith, who spotted every GM he played a pawn.
I just read an article about him. He played GMs in tournaments, so he couldn't have taken a pawn off the board.

Oh! I get it now. You mean he played gambits. That's funny

Bent Larsen allegedly annotated one of his games and gave his opponent a "?" for playing 1. d4, saying "1. e4 wins a pawn!"
