Magnus has had a draw match with a grandmaster since he was 10, I think he's better.
who's better? garry kasparov or magnus carlsen?
There is no reality in which Garry is a stronger player than Magnus. One could discuss whether Kasparov was more dominant compared to his peers in the 80s and 90s than Magnus is to his. But I don't think so.
It's hard to compare the two, as they each have a different style.
Kasparov is very student-like and offensive
Carlsen is more positional and less about studying openings
If we now compare them in terms of trophies won, Carlsen is the superior player, with his numerous world championship titles in the 2010s
But this is a different era. Kasparov, for example, didn't have the computers to study like today's great players
I think Kasparov. I mean, we can never have a full comparison, but at their peaks, Kasparov I think would be better. He also didn't have the access to computers and Stockfish like Magnus, which allows Magnus to study in a different and effective way.
Well I'd say Magnus because people always use the fact that Magnus's era had computer but so did his opponents so even tho he has access to better tools so does everyone else.. it's not like he got early access to engines. This is not to mention Magnus drew a game against Garry and beat Karpov in that same tournament at 10
I think both, they are goat right?
