I lost a game in my very brief career here. (actually, many) 
I was checkmated when my opponent's clock showed 0.01 time remaining.
I thought I had won on time when the end-of-the-game "noises" announced the end-of-the-game "result" of the game.
Shockingly, at that very moment, instead of winning on time, I lost on Checkmate!
I felt really good for my opponent, because he deserved the win.
And the excitement of his clock counting down, his Checkmate so very near … it was, and still is, my most exciting game ever.

What was funny was he had me "beat to rights", one of those castle puzzles with his pieces all around my castled King, he wasn't finding the Solve of the puzzle, the adrenaline must have been incredible for him as he'd watch the clock drop below 1-min, and start to ratchet up the drama as the clock became a blur of activity. It really was intense.
