any body have an answer to this most perplexing question? I theorize it is because chess is essentially a battle, and women don't do battle.

Perhaps if chess were were more of an simulation of having babies, or gossiping with friends, we would have a female WC?

I am not a misogynist. See my name...

Lol you are not a woman.

I agree that women are hostile and combative within a relationship, but not with a military mindset. More like, I want to control my boyfriend/husband.

give it time, we will eventually see women making Carlsen walk away from a game Right voices in my head?

How much time? 100 years? 200 years?

Depends when women want to go all out, I believe there are some women who can take down a GM, chess is about understanding and outsmarting someone and they are some women that fits this category perfectly

I believe the time between the evolution of Homo Habilis to the anatomically modern humans. So about 2.8 million years Nada? I hope this helps.wink.png

@ nadamisogynist.  Women in general are surprisingly  underrepresented in the chess world. Women only represent 5%  of registered tournament players worldwide and only 1% of GMs.

So, if you based it on these numbers, the chances of women to become world champion is almost zero.

I'd like to see top male versus top female. It would be some good games I think. Some women get up to about 2600. Also man versus woman might bring in some good money.

Hou Yifan had one game against Magnus Carlsen in which she blundered so hard in the endgame that I could even spot both the blunder and the refutation.

Hmm. Indeed.

Judit Polgar, came the closest to being competitive enough with men, to have a chance.

Personally, I think those WGM in this generation have considered following her but haven't because it's obvious that in chess, men are just too strong.
