To be quite honest, I make mistakes like that A TON because I was not paying attention, but when I do that, do I quit, or offer a draw? my answer is NO, I play the game on until I WIN(or lose, but that is fine as well) in my opinion, it is good sportsmanship to play the game until the end, not resin if I see the opponent has an advantage (unlike many of my previous opponents) and if my opponent makes a mistake I will usually take advantage of it, not because I'm mean, but because it's how the game is played (for me at least) also if you notice, at least half of the games I lost I resigned, that was because my parents needed to get on or they needed me to do something.
Why are people here so UNMERCYFUL?
But I will not offer a draw simply because you made a mistake.
Will Chess.com Fix The Problem? These opponents prevent me from getting 1000 rated
Making 'stupid' mistakes is what's stopping your rating rising, not your opponent's behaviour.
The good news is that the fewer 'stupid' mistakes you make the sooner you will reach 1000, regardless of how your opponents behave.
(But you probably won't get to 1000 if you give your opponents draws when you're winning. )
Please tell me you're trolling everyone here, right? You talk about bad behaviour, yet your username is also quite..well....harsh. Also, the rules of the game are simple. You see something unprotected without compensation for the opponent, you grab it (unless there's something better in the position for you).
Chess is a microcosm of human interactions, and humans are a competitive, predatory species. We all prey on weaker players here, be thankful that you have a significant chance of beating me. If we were stranded alone on a small desert island, we would have to become one, and I would be the one getting up from the dinner table afterward. Nothing personal.
Check Bristol Rovers out online , they are total crap ! Bristol City is the best team ! I once watched City beat Rovers 3-0 , it should have been 6-0 , Rovers didn't even have a single shot in the whole match !
I offered a take back one time when an opponent blundered his queen. He said that it was nice of me to offer, but it's a touch-move game. I respect that. I definitely don't want to win because of a mouse slip though. For instance if someone goes to short castle as black and they accidentally put their king on f8, I'm gonna be at least offering an abort, rematch. There are tons of online players that don't care though and would happily play on, and I think that's the kind of player Melvyn-G is talking about.
