It's a wonder he hasn't been banned yet.

I flutuate between 1480 and 1560 in this site and when I start to face the 1550 or higher the level rises rapidly.

They follow well known opening lines, rarely make tatical mistakes and are good in positional play.

Many people have mental problems and I see this a lot on this forum. Those that have mental issues do not and will never realize that they do have a mental problem. Also, this is without doubt the most trollish forum on the internet. Incredible.

Not most, I'd say

10% fake
20% real
15% certifiably mentally ill
5% meh
50% shit
and 100% reason for erik to cash his check

But seriously it's a lot of little kids and noobs.

Those who spam, and other who post dumb **** are just doing what comes natural.

I don't come here often, but it's the same. No, actually slowly getting worse. There are the certified nutjobs and the fake nutjobs/trolls who are so miserable that they can never improve their chess, and then resort to trolling the sh_t out of this forum. SMH.

I think it's just because they are so young and so immature and they find pleasure in annoying the hell out of everyone else.

Oi, tudo bem? Are you talking about blitz, rapid or Daily? In Daily it is usual that people follow main lines for a while, as everybody can use books or databases.

Judging by this thread, a solid chunk of players that high up will happily throw fair play out of the window. And that's why I have no intention to go any higher than my 900. It's simply not worth the stress. Plus, I've pretty much already accomplished what I wanted.

YellowVenom

I really don't see the point in cheating to see if your opponent is cheating... but I'm not gonna bother thinking about what makes them do it. They're more crooked than a tree in a tornado.

YellowVenom

Using an engine in any way for any purpose during a game is cheating. There is no way around that, and it's utterly unforgivable. I'm not that great at all, but I will never stoop that fricking low. Really, it's another reason why I've mainly moved to bullet chess...

YellowVenom

Considering the risk of this thread getting locked, and because I've already made my position clear enough, this is the last post I'll write here. The higher up the ladder you climb, the more likely you'll find brainless morons looking to cheat just for a cheap dopamine hit. Anyone who cheats even once, rated or unrated, to learn or to win, is not to be trusted, because how can you be sure they'll never do it again, when it matters? Cheaters are the scum of the earth, preying on those who got where they are though hard work and fair practice. And that's without mentioning the fact that these scumbags only encourage more people people do it. Oh, and game analysis already exists as a feature for after your game when you can no longer influence it. So fricking use it. Yes, I feel so strongly about cheating because I'm sick of the huge ugly brown stain it leaves on our society. No, I will not change my mind unless you surgically replace it. Rant over.

its cause of those damn germans... the chessbrahs were right all along!

There's always going to be these beginners and intermediates complaining about cheating. cry.png "I can't get to 1000 because everyone's cheating!!!" they'll say. But the truth is there's really not so many cheaters on chess.com; you can't blame cheaters for your failure. If you play against someone who you think is cheating, report them, they get banned, and you get your points back. Simple enough, right? Well, no, apparently not. People will continually attempt to blame their failure on cheaters, despite chess.com's quite decent preventative system. The fact is, over my 500 games on chess.com, only 3 of my opponents have gotten banned for cheating. 3!!! It is completely false that more cheaters are found as you climb higher up the rating ladder; this is a false superstition you have forced yourself to believe due to your lack of progress and inability to further improve. So next time, just be quiet. There's always going to be cheaters, but just report them and move on.
