If you suspect someone, just report them. If you don't see the account closed, either the site hasn't seen the ticket, the opponent is clean, or there isn't sufficient evidence of unfair play.
Discussions of cheating, potential cheating, or cheat detection are also not allowed in the main forums.
Hello Chess.com Community,
I was wondering if you all could help me answer a simple question? Why won't chess.com ban a player who is clearly cheating at daily games? Admittedly, I might be simply upset because he outplayed me for nearly [X] moves in our game, but that is why I felt I was not actually playing this player, but his engine. That being said with any accusation should come evidence, and here is mine:
1. The subject's non-daily elo ratings:
[ratings removed -- MS]
These identifiers demonstrate the subject's likely strength is around 1000 to 1100. This includes his puzzle rating, which I find at the aggregate is usually higher than a player's actual elo strength.
2. The subject played at the above-stated estimated strength in the initial stage of their daily game endeavors. In the subject's first [X] games, their record was [X] wins and [X] losses, with an average move accuracy of 50-60% against players with an average daily rating of 900-1000.
3. On September 18, 2021 the subject significantly improved in strength. They won [X] games in a row, with 1 exception. These 23 games brought the subject's elo from [X] . In these [X] games, the subject's average move accuracy ranged only from 95% to 99.7%, with one exception which went down to 88%.
4. The one loss the subject suffered during these [X] games is also note worthy. It involved an almost-perfect opening and middle game, concluding in a clearly winning position both materially and positionally. However, the subject proceeded to grab more material (likely playing on their own accord) and lost to a single blunder (mate in 4). The game ended with the subject making 0 mistakes, 0 inaccuracies, 0 missed wins and only 1 blunder.
5. Admittedly, my last piece of evidence is more subjective, but it is worth noting that in my [X] game against the subject, I played into a Nimzo-Indian defense and got positionally outplayed from beginning to end. Given that my Rapid rating is over 2100 and my Blitz rating is over 1800, I find it hard to believe after 29 moves of material equality, I would find myself in a completely lost position against someone over 1000 points below me.
f the subject played fairly, then by all means I applaud their play. But if you think they are using an engine. Please help me bring them to the attention of Chess.com administrators, because I have been unable to do so. Also, help me understand why no action has been taken.
The subject in question's username is [public accusations not allowed -- MS].
Thank you chess community!
