I agree, it's also worth noting that no matter how complex newer games that come out are, they pale in comparison to the complexity and artistic value that Chess has provided for centuries. I do play Xbox and other video game systems, but they come and go, Chess has always remained an intrisic love of mine! :)

Chess has been my favorite board game ever since i played it on computer;even though i am a beginner.
Chess is a two-player board game played on a chessboard, a square-checkered board with 64 squares arranged in an eight-by-eight grid. Each player begins the game with sixteen pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. The

Chess has intrigued me from the first time I saw a chess set and wondered why four of the pieces were horse heads. And that was somewhere around the 7th grade. The knights still intrigue me and I never tire reading, studying or playing chess. I never knew anyone that knew how to play until someone showed how to move the pieces when I was 17, and that person was not certain just how the knight moved. To me, asking why I enjoy playing chess is like asking me why I want to keep breathing. Yes, I could live without chess, but I certainly never want that to happen.
Why chess?
Why not! Chess is a fun game with relatively easy to learn rules. This game can help you develop your ability to solve everyday problems, it can help you become more patient. After all, this is a game that relies on the mind's ability to find solutions to problems.
Now, I don't know the reason why you've decided to learn to play chess. I can only guess that you are curious about the game or that you've probably played before with your friends and lost miserably (it used to happen to me all the time). Or maybe you just want to learn new interesting things. No matter what your reason is I can assure you that you won't regret spending time in learning chess on this site .
