Scratch that, in may alone I’ve had three rapid cheaters.
Why do high level players play only blitz?!

Where are you getting your data?
I've played a few thousand blitz games on this site and run into a handful of cheaters. Since switching most of my play to game 10, one opponent in 40 gets banned for cheating.
Hence, I think you are wrong.
Just out of experience and the logic that cheaters are not patient enough to play rapid. If a lot of your opponents are getting banned for cheating it might be that they cheat in other time controls than in the one that you played them in. For example a cheater plays you legit in rapid and then goes out to cheat in bullet and gets banned
A lot of them get banned within one or two days of joining the site and play only rapid.
Just my experience, of course. But even a little data is better than poor guesswork. Also, I might point out that my experience has been corroborated by many others in similar threads.

yep, but I was talking about my games since 2021, I assume you are talking about all time.

2021 I've played mostly rapid (something over 1400 games). Just under 300 blitz in 2021. The number of banned cheaters among my opponents this year probably equals the number of banned opponents during the previous thirteen years on this site.
I've run into the highest percentage of cheats in correspondence, but have played very few of those since early 2018.

Chess Players play Bullet and Blitz Chess to prevent cheating where they spend a lot of time on every move.

they are just having fun, and shorter time controls are more effective against cheaters.
lower rated players should still play slower games

NO! Cheaters play blitz and bullet so that they are able to play masters. If masters would play rapid, they would also play rapid.
