WHY Do I Keep Making Mistakes?????

I think I'll have to chill out just a little.

I thought about it and I think I (wrongly) use chess to get some steam out of me, mostly bullet, to get all the frustration I have out of me. so I rage like a motherf*cker, seriously, I had not raged as hard as the day I posted this thread since I played cod and golf, and I raged a LOT back then. The funny thing is that IRL I'm a really calm, shy, patient and collected guy...idk.

I just played a 15/10  game while comfy in my chair, studied every move, and won fair and square, and had a lot of fun doing so.

Yeah, I'll try to enjoy more every single game (that will solve 70% of my problem I think) and in the meantime I'll try to get better technically with tactics and keeping in mind what to think before every move

Good for you! Slow down, relax, and focus - and many happy wins to you!

There are better games for letting out steam.

"There are better games for letting out steam."

Yeah, but the best require a willing partner and lots of whipped cream.

1)  Not watching the clock (in speed chess)

2)  Not looking at the position from the other fellows point of view.

3)  Not allowing mates in one!

4)  Playing when too tired.

There is no such thing as "retardation" for chess. Everyone is theoretically able to become an expert, most never do it. Everyone has his own preferences and when you really want something so hard to invest much time for it, there are no real limits. Limit is a word created in the mind of lazy and doubtfull people who dont believe in themselves. Please contact me, I am coaching for free.

I don't understand.

Ok... I think I do now, but it took me a while to get it. I remember watching a few documentaries on the game that I think you're talking about (and a huge variety of other similar games).

Chess is a GREAT game but none the less it can be viewed as more or less a HOBBY for most players. you can't really play chess without understanding basic opening principals of the game and those can't be learned playing "speed" chess. we ALL make mistakes but the better chessplayers review their games and find out WHY they made those mistakes. Tactical concepts are very IMPORTANT but so is a basic study of endgame principals because what is the point of having an endgame advantage if you have no idea of how to conclude the game. Smile

Some losses can be very uncomprehendable. Please take a look at the next game I played. I was black. I had two horrible moves - the fourth and fourteenth. I could recover from the first, but not from the second.

I then really wonder: how could I make those mistakes????
