Why do I play better against higher rated players than I do against lower ones?

Please provide an example of such a tournament from your archive.
From what I can see , you have played bullet and bliz tournaments.
In the blitz tournament, you lost to people rated above you and beat people rated below you.
In bullet, the results were more random but that's what happens in bullet.

I see three rapid games against people rated more or less the same as you and you lost two out of three.
I don't see any victories against people rated 250 points higher than you.

Actual tournaments aside, I see this phenomenon all the time in longer time controls (not as much in bullet). For me it's a matter of discipline. I am often lazier in my thinking and moves against lower rated opponents and focus significantly more against higher rated opponents, where I am worried about losing.
So it's basically a matter of discipline vs. laziness. Or, more charitably, one might say a case of rising to the challenge....

Higher-rated players often adhere to classical principles and more predictable patterns, making it easier for you to exploit their mistakes or follow your own plan. Lower-rated players might play more unpredictably, which can throw you off balance.

This is complete nonsense. Most likely AI-generated.
