Why do people cheat?

Do you really believe he doesn't cheat? Look at his accuracy. And to offset that, he resigns a game after 9 moves for no reason to get a loss on his record.

the moves he plays aren't even good. his opponent just hangs pieces like crazy and he takes them.
against this level of competition I would also easily get 95%+ accuracy, nothing special.
I just played this user [removed] He started making moves that completely overwhelmed me but I tried to stay solid. But he was playing moves that reminded me of games from super GMs where they would just positionally destroy. Really odd moves that won't make much sense. So I looked at this user's game history. They lose 5-8 games in a row and then win 4-6 games in a row. All wins are over 90% accuracy. Some are below 90 but over 85. In their game against me, they played first few moves on their own which led to lower accuracy than 90 (87).
I am a bit mad about losing but more than that I am disappointed. I wonder why do people cheat and why is it so difficult for chess.com to notice their patterns and ban them? This person has been cheating for a while. I wish chess.com was more proactive.
