Why do people enjoy Chess?

Tough question. Some people prefer to play against themselves so it can't always be said it's the competition that drives us all.

I guess we love to create and destroy, and chess facilitates this urge beautifully. Dark and light, up and down, make and break (shake and bake 😁), positive and negative and electricity, neuron left and neuron right and don't forget the neon lights.

Chess was made in our nature, that's why we love it.

There's gotta be some dopamine hits in there somewhere...

I don't know why I like chess anymore than I know why I like corned beef and cabbage.

I like chicken and rice.

I just don't get full without any rice.

Two bowls of mash later: oh my God, aah. Okay okay no it's good bring me the rice. Bring me the rice.

Pasta and bread will do though.
