Why do people get diamond instead of platinum?

Diamond only adds 2 different features and is a lot more expensive than platinum yet i still see a bunch of 300 rated players getting platinum. Why is this?

Because the 2 different features it adds are very powerful; insights and unlimited move explanations are very useful.

Wait so what does unlimited move explanations do? Is it just like game review?

Insights give what people are struggling with and what to improve on and move explanations are move explanations.

Oh ok and based on my rating and stuff like that should I get diamond?

It's your wish acc. I haven't gotten any memberships yet and I have reached 1500 rapid rating. So it is a matter of your choice whether you want to get memberships or not

For me? Diamond is completely useless. What I paid for I can get for free. And I much prefer using books, real board and pieces and good ole pen and paper

Hello, I think everyone will have their own answer to this question. For example, for me personally, it would be a waste of money, since I analyze the board myself first on a physical board, and then locally using an Android GUI (in my case, Chessis) and the latest Stockfish engine to spot things I might not have noticed on my own. I do limited tactical work here, mostly on Lichess (though I'm considering adding problems from a book and trying out some tactical materials). The rest I get from a good book. At most, I might also watch something on YouTube and the internet in general for general information and to broaden my horizons. So, draw your own conclusions, in my opinion, everything a subscription provides can be obtained even better for free.
