why do people keep resigning

It’s sad - Im always trying to get the achievements killer king, castle victory etc but people keep resigning before I’m able to. One time I was literally one move away and they resigned. Even when I post in the chat please don’t resign they do anyway. Hopefully I’ll verse someone nice soon when I ask them not to resign and they’ll play it out
