It makes me laugh that you both think I am frustrated. Just trying to understand the logic behind. If what you say is true, then I have to laugh at how meaningless this thrill is.
Thanks for the replies, I am out.

At the end of the day whether they intentionally disconnected, ran for the hills or didn't move until the last minute you've secured the win and the points will follow. What's the problem?
Indeed, I know from various other turn based online games that some people will try to go for the "rage-quit" win, which basically means annoying the other player so much that they just say fuck it and quit.. dragging out time as much as possible is pretty much the most essential tool for this kind of strategy, because that is freaking annoying to be sure, and personally I'd just leave as well because I can't be arsed to waste my time on people like that.
Depending on the game you play there will always be strategies to just drag out the game without ever intending to win it as such, they just want to piss you off so much that you leave it. You'd be a hero for sticking to it and beating them after a few months of waiting though ;)

Sounds like a life pattern.
It's because they feel so strong that they need to give you odds. They would like to give you a piece but they can't. Actually i do it all the time.
if I'm playing blitx and my oppo blunders into a mate in 1 I like to wait until the last couple of seconds
Some people play a large number of games at the same time, and they have to move in all the other games first and only just make it to your game in time.

Are you waiting for resigning? Very nice of you.
If you're talking about online chess, perhaps some people choose the time limit they do because they don't have time to move more often.
people do this because their trolling u! a person did this 2 me when i was threatening mate in 1 and she couldnt stop it.
If it's an Online game, then the opponent has the right to use as much time as he wishes if it's 1/2/3 days/move. However, if it is a longer game, and it is evident that the opponent is intentionally stalling until the last hour just to delay the game, then it is very disrespectful and unsportsmanlike.
But nothing can be done to stop them. So, live with it.
(See how serious I was there?!)
Maybe they're minutemen.
No, as i've said they give time odds. For example it can be fun if you are 500 points higher otherwise it's no fun.

I've looked at all the OP's games and can see no evidence to support his/her post. Admittedly the timestamps on the moves are not visible (to me) here at Chess.com.
You don't have to take my word for it, just go to his/her profile and look through his/her lost games...
Well, any game he/she had won or drawn I ignored. I concentrated on the lost games, and I went straight to the end of the game.
I immediately discounted games where he/she was checkmated; suffering a crushing material disadvantage; or (as White) had abandoned the game without making a single move...
I am trying to understand why some people will wait until the last minute of the timer to play all their moves. Every time someone does that I lose interest in playing and I let them win but I would like to understand the reason why some people do that. Is it a thrill? If so, where is the thrill?
