To say that because it happened in this particular circumstance makes it universally bad sportsmanship is incorrect.
It would be great to play chess to the end on a consistent basis in every game. It takes 2 to play a game of chess, make sure the game ends with a “mate”.
Even in 1800-2000 I have won games when I blunder my queen. Its possible but not probable. I think the only time you should resign is if the game just started so both of u have like 8 minutes on the clock. and if you dont get anything back for the queen.
But, if I lose my queen and get a bishop back for example, and im 3 minutes ahead on the clock. I never resign.

and i have won countless games after the opponent blundered? so what? its true for ratings below 1000, sure. above 1500 though its very rare to still loose once the opponent blundered.
and thats the whole point. even if you win 1 out of 10 games after blundering your queen, you still waste your opponents time 9 out of 10 times
2000 and above its just childish behaviour, as stated previously.
of course not counting bullet games. never count bullet chess since thats not chess at all. just stupid madness, even at 3000+ level
