Dude hung his queen and rage quit in frustration. Happens all the time. I’d say about half of players resign after hanging their queens. He’s clearly lost unless you blunder, so why bother wasting 20 minutes of your life hoping that your opponent does something stupid? I mean if you actually do win, which is unlikely, it’s not because you outsmarted your opponent; rather, they outdumbed you. Either way, it’s not satisfying.

People can resign without rage quitting, you know. Resign, don´t worry about the blunder and move on to the next one.

thats true.

but it was daily so he had like 50% chance of winning on time and like 20% he would still play better than me and win.

People who dumbly hang their queens are almost always irritated about it.

People calmly resign in lost positions all the time, but after hanging queens it’s usually a rage quit.

very correct.

After hanging his queen, analysis shows that white is +8.4. That’s a lot. Absent multiple white blunders, black is dead lost. Black has zero developed pieces and is down a queen. I’d resign every time. I’m not going to waste my time hoping you do something stupid. I’d rather play a new game.

There´s absolutely no evidence for that.

I’m sorry. You’re correct. It could very well be the case that most people who hang their queens and resign are just merrily skipping to their next matchup.

@wonderfulzach40. Thanks? Only after a full criminal background check. And, you bet your sweet ass.

Weighing in on the chess-related discussion, sometimes it's just a better use of time to resign than to play on, in terms of efficiency. I almost never resign, but that's because I mostly play bullet.
