Why do people who disconnect not move when they forfeit on time?

I checked someone, and then they disconnected. They lost on "____ did not reconnect in time" but their king didn't move like when they forfeit on time normally. I would put a screenshot here, but my finder is glitching and refuses to show me my screenshots so yeah I can't.
