Why do some 2000 elos not have diamond membership?
In before the posts about the benefits of being a free member.
I don't think your rating if high merits anyone paying for diamond membership, its surely down to whether one can afford it, I am currently a paid member but sadly won't be when it runs out due to having to retire due to health reasons so won't be renewing its down to costs so will be continuing as none member but rarely play more than 8 games at time and only at 3 days per move.
I don't take chess seriously - I just enjoy it as a hobby.
Also, having a membership won't guarantee that someone reaches a titled level of play. That depends entirely on the player.
that just sound like pay to win for me
Nope. You pay to access better features.
You think it's so easy to just pull up to tournaments and get a title? Some people have lives, you know. A classical chess game can last up to 3 hours or more. Also, when buying a membership, you have to consider the features that you will use and how busy your life is.
I tried getting the meme online titles from FIDE (Arena Candidate Master, Arena FIDE Master, etc.), but I stopped at ACM. Seemed like a waste of time. There are no strong players. Very few players. I doubt that their fair play checks are as good as chess.com. The interface was terrible. There was lag.
Juice is not worth the squeeze. Some people don't live in Europe and America. You have to do some traveling to actually find a tournament, etc.
The opening poster has some very weird ideas about chess. "Just pay £9 a month to get to title level chess" sounds complete nonsense.
Also, there is a huge difference between 2000 on chess.com and being a titled player. A huge difference.
Just because you pay?

Probably more about privilege than ideas
I'm a university student, and university students don't exactly have money lying around.
Besides, when you're above 2000, improvement is a lot more than just using game analysis and puzzle reps.
