Why do you go down in puzzle rating when you get it correct

it even says my rating goes up for example the last puzzle i did gave me plus 8 rating but my rating went down

please tell me what is going on

I think it might happen if you take longer than the time it wants you to take, and it is a lower rated puzzle than you.

There is a bug with the first puzzle completed in a session where it doesn't actually get counted towards your rating and won't show in your archive. However the puzzle shows on the graph.

So, if you get the first one right you'll see that but when you get the next puzzle right, your actual rating likely won't be as high and the graph will show a drop.

Staff have identified the cause of the bug so it should be fixed in the near future.

I have had a similar bug too, I get rating points when I get it wrong.

If a puzzle is multiple moves, it can provide partial credit.

On that one you got 2 of 3 moves right and it's apparently one that gives partial credit.

I thought that rating was given because the puzzle was still experimental, as the rating given for failing usually happens on 'rating pending' puzzles

Puzzles in a pending state give +1 when getting them wrong

also im noticing sometimes it will say -12 but i will lose around 30

I just looked at your archive for your last puzzles and don't see anything like that

yeah its very confusing I dont totally understand whats going on, i cant give any proof but i will try and take screenshots before and after to see if anything happens

ok here is a series of moves leading to the end when it gives me points for partial credit but i lose even when it says i gained

here is it happening again, i clearly lose way more than what is says i do
