Total immersion in a beautiful game.
I always smile when associates ask how I could bear to spend three hours sitting at a chess board with a piece moving every few minutes without getting bored - knowing the truth that in reality, the time was gone all too quickly with most of it on the edge of my seat, generally panicking that time was running out too fast.
I love chess. I grew an appreciation for the game, just recently. Its truly become a necessary step in my daily routine that I find both challenging and fun. I love the game because of its balance; all of the pieces have a job and could be argued to be the best out of all.
